The Phoenix Centre is an independent charity established in 1972 to give children with development problems a playgroup and to enable parents to meet together and voice their needs.

The Centre provides a service within the local community linking into all activities involving the health, welfare and education of pre-school children with special needs.

 

Aims and Objectives.

To help children with special needs to gain sufficient independence and confidence to then integrate into local authority provision within nurseries and schools.

To develop the skills of -

social, self-help, hand/eye co-ordination, concentration, cognitive, language, listening.

To give support to parents and provide an opportunity for involvement within an informal environment.

To complement existing services and facilities.

To foster greater community understanding of children with special needs.

To encourage charitable activities through which parents, staff and volunteers may help children.

 

Catchment Area.

Our catchment area covers the whole of Dudley Metropolitan Borough.  Children from adjoining areas are not excluded but we regret transport cannot be provided.
